About this example

This example is the delivery note a lumber yard leaves with a home builder after the second of three drops of a framing package. It lists every item on the customer's purchase order with the quantity ordered, shipped and still to follow, and records the two boom-truck loads, their weight and the times they arrived and were unloaded.

On a job site the delivery note is what settles arguments later, so this one is specific. A table shows each tagged bundle and exactly where it was set, another lists what is coming on the next drop and when, and a checklist records what the driver and site superintendent checked together. Exceptions, a short shipment of hurricane ties and three damaged sheets, are written down with what will happen, before short delivery terms and the signature.

Who it is for

Lumber yards, building supply dealers and distributors who deliver materials to job sites, and builders who receive and sign for them.
