About this example
This example is a weekly invoice a small trucking company sends a shipper for six full-truckload dry van loads out of Dallas. Each load is billed at its agreed linehaul rate with its bill of lading number and delivery time, followed by a fuel surcharge on loaded miles, 2.5 hours of detention at a receiver and a lumper fee paid by the driver.
Freight bills get audited, and a carrier is paid faster when the invoice answers the auditor's questions up front. This one lists every load with the receiver who signed for it, maps the lanes with their miles, shows the surcharge schedule and the week's diesel price, logs the detention times, and summarizes the total by charge type. It ends with the documents attached to the invoice email and the billing terms.
Who it is for
Small and mid-size trucking companies and owner-operators who bill shippers or brokers for truckload freight under a rate agreement.
