About this example

This example is the delivery note a timber merchant leaves with a house builder after the second of three drops of a timber frame package. It lists every item on the customer's purchase order with the quantity ordered, delivered and still to follow, and records the two crane-lorry loads, their weight and the times they arrived and were unloaded.

On site the delivery note is what settles arguments later, so this one is specific. A table shows each tagged bundle and exactly where it was set down, another lists what is coming on the next drop and when, and a checklist records what the driver and the site manager checked together. Exceptions, a short delivery of hurricane ties and three damaged sheets, are written down with what will happen, before short delivery terms and the signature.

Who it is for

Timber merchants, builders' merchants and distributors who deliver materials to site, and builders who receive and sign for them.
