About this example
This example is the credit note a garden wholesaler issues to a garden centre after an end-of-season return. It credits three kinds of returns against the original spring invoice: unsold seasonal goods under the return allowance less a 15% restocking fee, planters that arrived cracked, and string lights shipped in the wrong colour, with the return carriage.
Returns credits invite questions, so this one answers them on the page. A table gives the reason and credit rule for each item, the allowance table shows how much of the season's return allowance has been used, and an inspection log records what came back and in what condition. The note explains what happens next, including when the right lights will ship, and closes with the returns policy and an approval stamp.
Who it is for
Wholesalers and distributors who take back goods from retailers, and buyers who check the credits they receive.
