About this example
This example is the proposal an interior designer sends a family who want to redesign their living and dining room: a calm, durable space that works for two children and a dog and seats twelve at holiday dinners. It covers a concept and mood board, a furniture layout, full design development, procurement, site visits and a single installation day.
Design clients worry about two things, the fee and the furniture bill, so this proposal keeps them apart. The design fee is itemised and fixed, while the furnishings appear as a separate budget, item by item, bought at trade cost plus a stated mark-up and approved one order at a time. A cover letter restates the brief, the overview lists what stays and what goes, and a mood board, layout and palette table show the direction. Phases, payments and plain terms on lead times, revisions and bespoke orders complete it.
Who it is for
Interior designers, decorators and home stagers who price design services separately from the furniture and finishes they buy for clients.
