About this example
This example is the hire agreement a plant hire company sends a main contractor for a retail shop fit-out. It hires out two small scissor lifts, a tall scissor lift, a 45-foot (about 14 m) boom lift and a compact tracked loader with pallet forks for four weeks, with delivery and collection, a damage waiver and Florida sales tax.
Most hire disputes start at return, so this agreement settles the details before the machines arrive. A comparison of the three platforms helps the crew use the right one, a rate table shows what an extension costs, and a checklist covers what the driver and the site manager check together at delivery and return. The terms cover trained operators, where the machines may be used, what the damage waiver does and does not cover, breakdowns, off-hire times and extra charges.
Who it is for
Plant and tool hire companies and contractors who hire out access platforms, loaders and other machines by the day, week or month.
