About this example
This example is a weekly invoice a small haulier sends a shipper for six full loads in box trailers out of Dallas. Each load is billed at its agreed trunking rate with its bill of lading number and delivery time, followed by a fuel surcharge on loaded miles, 2.5 hours of waiting time at a consignee and an unloading fee paid by the driver.
Freight bills get audited, and a haulier is paid faster when the invoice answers the auditor's questions up front. This one lists every load with the consignee who signed for it, maps the lanes with their miles, shows the surcharge schedule and the week's diesel price, logs the waiting times, and summarises the total by charge type. It ends with the documents attached to the invoice email and the billing terms.
Who it is for
Small and mid-size hauliers and owner-drivers who bill shippers or forwarders for full loads under a rate agreement.
