About this example

This example is the delivery note a foodservice distributor leaves at a restaurant's back door on a Tuesday morning. It is the first of two deliveries against the restaurant's weekly purchase order, and lists every item by temperature zone, frozen, chilled and dry, with the quantity ordered, the quantity delivered and the lot or pack date printed on the case.

In food distribution the delivery note is also the food safety record, so this one keeps the evidence. It records the temperatures probed at the door against the required limits, the catch weights of the meat and cheese that are billed by actual weight, and the one short item with when it will arrive. The receiving checks from the purchase order are ticked off, and short terms cover shorts, quality claims and returns before the receiver signs.

Who it is for

Food distributors, wholesalers and suppliers who deliver to restaurants, and the kitchens that check and sign for deliveries.
