About this example
This example is the purchase order an architecture firm sends an IT reseller for a fourth-floor equipment refresh. It orders fifteen laptops and workstations, thirty monitors, docks and keyboards, plus network storage, a switch and two UPS units, at the prices in the reseller's quote, with Indiana sales tax on the total.
An IT order goes wrong when a cheaper model is substituted or devices arrive without serial numbers. So this PO opens with a cover note, sets a minimum specification for the main laptop, and lists delivery requirements: serial numbers with the invoice, devices registered for zero-touch enrollment, boxes labeled by area and inside delivery. A floor plan shows where each kind of equipment goes, a timeline shows the go-live date, and purchase terms cover prices, partial shipments, dead-on-arrival units, invoicing and warranty registration.
Who it is for
Office managers, operations directors and IT leads at small and mid-size companies who buy computers and network equipment from resellers.
