About this example
This example is the invoice an equipment rental company in Houston, Texas, sends a general contractor at the end of the month: a 19-foot scissor lift for three weeks, a 60-foot boom lift for two and a compact track loader for one, all delivered to and collected from a medical office building site.
Contractors check a rental invoice against the delivery tickets, so this one gives each unit its number, the dates it went out and came back, and the weekly rate charged. The damage waiver is shown as 12% of the rental, and delivery, fuel used, a cleaning charge and the environmental fee each have their own line, with the reason beside them. Texas sales tax applies to the rental and the charges alike. A second table repeats each unit's dates with its hour-meter readings and fuel level on return, and the invoice closes with bank details and rental terms on shifts, fuel, the damage waiver and late payment.
Who it is for
Equipment, tool and party rental companies that bill contractors and other customers for rental periods, delivery and extra charges.
