About this example
This example is the invoice a corporate travel agency in Chicago sends an architecture firm for a team trip to a conference in Lisbon: twelve round-trip flights, four nights at a hotel with breakfast, coach transfers to and from the airport, travel insurance and the agency's own fees.
A travel invoice has to show the client what has been booked and paid for in its name, so this one starts with the trip, the number of travelers, the dates and the booking reference. Airfares are shown per traveler including their government taxes and fees, hotel nights per room-night with the local tourist tax explained, and transfers, insurance, the per-traveler service fee and the group fee each on a line of their own. No sales tax is added. A balance table subtracts the deposit and explains why the balance is due when it is, an itinerary lists every flight and transfer with passport and visa notes, and the invoice ends with bank details and terms on name changes, cancellation, insurance and fees.
